Hello! The AMCP Health Helper: Script Your Future podcast series hosted by our very own Western University of Health Sciences AMCP Research and Education Committee is here to bring you more information about medication adherence, chronic disease states, vaccine confidence, and much more! Episode 1: Medication Adherence ​

  • The first episode of the Script Your Future podcast has officially launched, featuring Dr. Jenny Kang, a WesternU faculty and co-advisor for our AMCP student chapter! On this episode, we give you a brief overview of what Script Your Future is, the importance of medication adherence and the challenges patients face with adhering to their medications, and a few tips to help patients with adherence!

Episode 2: Vaccine Confidence and COVID-19

  • In this episode, we discussed what vaccine confidence is, how vaccine adherence plays into vaccine condifence, and some information about COVID-19. To help boost vaccine confidence, we also delved into some common misconceptions and concerns we've heard from patients. Additionally, we discussed about the current COVID-19 updates as well as general resources that health providers and patients can refer to!

 

Episode 3: Antimicrobial Resistance (feat Dr. Erik Skoglund)

  • On this two-part episode, we dive into the topic of Antimicrobial Resistance, a new topic to the Script Your Future Challenge and a very important issue in healthcare today. Along with your hosts Dia & Erin, we are joined by a very special guest speaker - Dr. Erik Skoglund, a WesternU College of Pharmacy Faculty member who specializes in Infectious Disease! Dr. Skoglund joins the discussion on antimicrobial resistance, highlighting the role of pharmacists plays in tackling this burden in healthcare.

 

Episode 4: Safe Drug Storage and Disposal

  • In this episode, our hosts, Erin and Allen, guide us through the topic of safe drug storage and disposal, an area that has not been talked about as often yet is extremely important for patients to know. Our medications can be affected in many different ways, so we go through these factors as well as where and how we can safely store our medications along with some examples! We also talk about the DOs and DONT's of how we should dispose of our old and expired medications.
